It is very important for you to ensure that your enrolment is correct at all times, you are enrolled in courses which will count towards your degree requirements and you follow the University's administrative procedures and policies. Not being aware of these requirements could have serious repercussions academically, financially or both.

There are many sources of information and people who are available to help you with planning and organising your studies at the ANU. On line, you can consult the SEAP guide, the Undergraduate Handbook, the Graduate Research website or the Study@ site.

If you need further advice, the table shows who is the best person to approach for help.

Who you should approach for help

Academic-related questions regarding your program, such as

  • Planning your program of study;
  • Seeking academic advice about your program;
  • Enrolling in or dropping courses relating to your program;
  • Transferring to another faculty or program;
  • Cross-institutional enrolment;
  • Compulsory and elective courses allowed in your program;
  • Taking leave from your program;
  • Credit for previous studies;

Your College/Faculty Office (undergraduates and postgraduate coursework students)

Your supervisor (postgraduate research students)

Teaching or assessment of particular courses, such as:
  • Assessment requirements for courses;
  • Pre-requisites/co-requisites for courses;
  • Results for courses;

First, speak with your lecturer or the course coordinator. Secondly, you could speak with a member of your College/Faculty/School/Centre administrative staff.

*Note that the College of Law does not have departments, so you should instead approach the College Office.

General administrative services, such as

  • Admissions to programs;
  • Co-ordinating enrolment /re-enrolment advisory sessions;
  • Billing and collecting HECS/tuition fees;
  • Co-ordinating end of semester examinations;
  • Co-ordinating graduation/conferring ceremonies;
  • Issuing academic transcripts;
  • Issuing Student Cards
