Proposal Submission Dates & Deadlines

Proposal submission deadlines depend upon the nature of the proposal itself. In the case of ANU Courses and Classes, the Department of Education (DEST) imposes additional deadlines and requirement that override all other university deadlines. Proposals that are submitted after the deadline will be subject to ministerial approval before being implemented at the ANU, as such, it is in everyone's best interest this sort of request is kept to a minimum.

Proposals that involve new courses will definitely be subject to this DEST deadline regime, so we recommend that there is a College Education Committee meeting in the first week of March and first week of September each year in order to meet the DEST 1 April and 1 October deadline.

The deadlines for new or changed programs are more flexible, however, certain publication deadlines still apply depending on the circumstances. Eg a new undergraduate program that need to be included in the UAC Guides will need to be submitted according to UAC's deadlines.
