Policy

  • International applicants are required to pay a $100 Application Fee when submitting a paper/written application for admission to the ANU.
  • International applicants are required to pay a $75 Application Fee when submitting an online application for admission to the ANU.
  • Fee Waiver

Fees may be waived under the following circumstances:

  • A delegated ANU staff member may waive the fee at an exhibition or scheduled interview for paper based applications where they believe the candidate to be serious about enrolling at the ANU and the applicant is likely to be made an offer.
  • An appointed ANU Agent submits an application via the ANU web/online.
  • ANU graduates (Alumni) need not pay the application fee when they apply to the ANU. This applies to domestic and international applicants, paper based or on-line applications.
  • Selected ANU Agents (approved only by the Registrar) have discretion to waive fees at exhibitions and selected interviews where they believe the candidate to be serious about enrolling at the ANU and the applicant is likely to be made an offer.
  • Proviso for the fee waiver:

  • From 2008 the application fee will not be refunded to applicants who enrol.
  • Agents are to be strongly discouraged from holding paper-based applications until exhibitions, so that the fee will be waived. ANU staff are not to waive the fee if this occurs. Instances of such requests must be reported to the Registrar.
  • Where an Agent submits an application online (i.e. the agent’s details are encoded on the application), the application fee will be waived.
  • Exemptions to the Application Fee:

Only the Registrar may waive application fees under any other circumstances.
