COMMONWEALTH SCHOLARSHIP AND FELLOWSHIP PLAN UK AWARDS
METHOD OF APPLICATION THROUGH
THE AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL UNIVERSITY – 2007
The closing date for receipt of applications by the Australian National University is
FRIDAY 13 OCTOBER 2006
The following information should be read in conjunction with, and provides supplementary information to, the information available on the IDP website.
- Application forms and further information for applicants may be obtained from the IDP website
http://www.idp.com/development/scholarships/default.asp
- Five copies of the completed application form (one original and 4 copies) are required.
- Please remember to submit five copies of your supporting documentation other than birth certificate, evidence of citizenship and referee reports and covering letter.
- Applicants are requested to obtain confidential academic referee reports from academics who have recent knowledge of their work.
Applicants should ask their referees to submit written reports and confirm with their nominated referees that they are available to provide their reports by the ANU closing date for applications. In addition, for ANU purposes only, applicants should ask their academic referees to complete the ‘Referee’s Questionnaire Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan’ and submit it with their written reports to the following address:
Attention: Research Students Office
(CSFP Application)
Assistant Head, Research Students Office
The Australian National University
CANBERRA ACT 0200
or
hand delivered to the Research Students Office,
Ground Floor, The Pauline Griffin Building No. 11,
The Australian National University
or
faxed to (02) 6125 5931 (Research Students Office)
(Original references should follow by post)
It is the applicant's responsibility to check with the Research Students Office (02 61255949) that all three referee reports have been received and to follow up any that remain outstanding.
Applicants should be aware that because the University has only a very short time in which to process and consider applications, they may be seriously disadvantaged if, by the ANU Selection Committee meeting, any referees reports (or other documentation) remain outstanding.
- Universities carry out preliminary selection and make recommendations to the Australian Nominations Committee. Whilst the information on the UK Awards from the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission under the heading 'Eligibility' refers to at least an upper second class honours degree, the intense competition for awards makes it essential that a first class honours degree will be, or has been obtained.
Candidates wishing to undertake postgraduate study in Business, Management, or related fields should have taken the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) before applying for the CSFP. Candidates intending to undertake Economics should check with the proposed institution whether the Princeton Graduate Record Examination (GRE) must be undertaken prior to entry.
- It is essential that completed applications with all supporting documentation are received no later than the closing date.
LATE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
