From the Director of the RO
The ARC and NHMRC have both recently announced
the results of their 2008 grant rounds.
I would like to congratulate all successful winners of ARC and NHMRC
grants and thank all College research management staff for their
contributions to ANU success in these Schemes. All College research management staff are invited to attend the ARC/NHMRC celebration being
hosted by the Research Office. The RQF Implementation is now well underway with
Colleges now having been formally asked to nominate Secretaries for the ANU
Panels. The Panel Secretaries will
play a vital role in ensuring that ANU puts forward the best possible submission
for the RQF. The RQF Project Team is now in the process of
emailing all eligible research staff asking them to check and update their
publication and other details shown in the RQF module of ARIES. The HERDC
Publication Contact Officers are playing an important role in assisting their
academic staff to update these records. The ANU RQF IT Implementation Group, which
includes members from both the Research Office and DoI,
met last week and is in the process of implementing DEST's
RQF Technical Specifications. This
will involve further modifications to the RQF module of ARIES to store the
data required by DEST for the RQF as well as modifications to the ANU's D Space repository and the building of an interface
between ARIES and the DEST RQF management system to allow the upload of data
to DEST. The ARIES Human Ethics module is now live and
being used by researchers. I would
like to thank all staff involved in the development of the module for their
efforts in its production. Finally, I hope to see you all the Research
Planning Day being held next Tuesday which will be an opportunity for us to
plan ANU's research management strategies for the
forthcoming year. |
