Welcome to the second Research Office Newsletter for April.

The Future Research Leaders Program, managed by the Research Management Policy and Training Unit, is proving very popular with our academic staff. The first module entitled Settling in: the Researcher’s Guide to Your University was held at the end of March and eight other modules are planned throughout the year.  Details can be found at http://www.anu.edu.au/ro/Director_RO/DRO_FRLPindex.php.  Please encourage academic staff in your area to attend.

The Working Party on the Revision of the Policy on Externally funded Grants, Contracts and Consultancies has now met and will shortly complete a draft of the revised policy. Once the draft has been completed it will be forwarded to Colleges for comment.

The HERDC Publication Collection is now in full swing with publication officers in the Colleges providing information on 2008 research publications to the Research Office Publications unit.  My thanks to everybody involved in providing this information, which will continue to be used by DIISR to calculate Research Block Grant funding in 2010.
