Welcome to the second Research Office Newsletter for March 2009.

March continues as a busy month for all Research Development staff with the submission of NHMRC Project Grants, the announcement of the ARC Linkage Project 2010 funding rules, and the ARC End of Year report submission.

ARC Linkage Projects 2010 will be the first scheme to be affected by the new Research Management System which will replace GAMS. In this newsletter you will find details of an ARC training session this week.  All Research Development staff are invited to attend what promises to be a useful induction from ARC staff.

Next week there will be a meeting of the Go8 Research Office Directors.  Last year the Group agreed on revised collaborative agreements between Go8 institutions for ARC Discovery and LIEF grants involving more than one institution.  This meeting will discuss a similar agreement for Linkage Project grants which do not involve commercial partners. The Meeting will also address other issues that have arisen in dealing with the ARC (including ERA), NHMRC and Research Ethics.

To mark the completion of the ARC DP10 and NHMRC Project Grant rounds, the Research Office invites all research management staff to drinks and nibbles this Wednesday afternoon.  Further details can be found below.
