From the Director of the Research Office

Welcome to the final issue of the Research Office Newsletter for 2008.

My thanks to everyone involved in research management across the University for all your work during 2008, a year which has included many new challenges. The support you provide, whether in sponsored research, research ethics, commercialisation or in the provision of research management data, is vital to the ANU in enhancing its standing and reputations as one of world's great research universities.

No doubt 2009 will bring fresh challenges, but in the mean time, I hope that you enjoy a well earned break and wish you Season's Greetings

HERDC - Higher Education Research Data Collection

It is now time to collect information from ANU academics about their Research Publications published during 2008.  This information needs to be entered in the ARIES data-base, usually by Departmental Administrators, by the end of March 2009.

Further training courses will be conducted early in 2009, and there are still a few vacancies in Course R005 on 18 December (book through HORUS). Specifications have not yet been supplied by the Commonwealth Department of Education, Employment & Workplace Relations, but we don't expect significant change from last year.

We would like to thank all involved during 2008, and look forward to ongoing team-work next year!
