Welcome to the Research Office Newsletter.

With the two ERA pilot clusters successfully delivered some members of the Research Office are looking visibly more relaxed, meanwhile ethics processes continue inexorably onward, with a healthy increase in human research ethics applications this year, the demand for research data both within and outside the University continues on in relentless fashion and we await the ARC Future Fellows announcement September 9 with keen anticipation.

Principally because it has outgrown its current accommodation the RO will be moving in October and we will let you know a fixed date closer to the time.

The Australasian Research Management Society (ARMS) Conference is in Christchurch next week and we look forward to seeing a number of ANU research administrators there. The emphasis of the conference looks to be on research funding and monitoring research performance but pre-conference workshops allow a little bit of something for everybody.

2009 Lunchtime Seminar Series - ANU Research Matters

Has your Research been published this year?
Authored books, chapters in edited books, peer reviewed journal articles and peer reviewed conference papers may be eligible for funding under the HERDC scheme. DIISR requires all Australian universities to submit data about their research publications.
The ANU Research Office co-ordinates the collection, verification and submission of your published Research outputs each year.
There are specifications that set out what, how and when it is submitted.

Based on previous publication collections, the ANU can expect to receive around $4 million from the material published in 2009.
A proportion of this money is distributed to the Colleges during the ANU’s annual budget process. Your Publications data is useful for other purposes too, including ERA. Find out what you need to do, in order to have your publications included.
