Discovery - Indigenous Researchers Development Scheme
The Discovery Indigenous Researchers Development scheme provides salary support to Indigenous Australian researchers and postgraduate research students to develop research expertise and experience to a level that is competitive with applicants for mainstream funding.

Business Offices or College Research Offices answer enquiries about ARC requirements, provide strategic advice and assistance with budgets. If they are unable to answer a query they can seek advice from the Office of Sponsored Research (OSR).
The ARC insists upon a single point of contact with an institution, hence questions requiring clarification with the ARC, must be asked by the OSR.
Applications that involve a number of CIs across departments should submit their applications through the Office of the first named CI.

ANU Submission Requirements
- The OSR will accept final and complete applications from Local Business Offices or College Research Offices, depending on your college’s structure.
- One original of each application, marked as such;
- One exact copy of each application (including the signed certification page), marked as such;
- All HARD COPIES must be CLIPPED, not stapled;
- A print out providing evidence that the GAMS section has been "local submitted"
- A coversheet including the following information:
- College name (and/ or local area if applicable)
- Administrator’s name delivering applications
- List in alphabetical order of CI surname
- Project ID
- Lead CI
- Project Title
- ARIES ID
(for your convenience, a template can be found under forms and documentation)
- The OSR will do the final electronic submission to the ARC in GAMS.
- Business/College offices should retain:
- RO-AP1 (Authority to Apply) form and
- ARC Certification proforma
- A copy of the application (preferably stored in ARIES)
- SPF will need these to set up an account if the project is successful
- Please note that under no circumstances should Business Managers or Local Grants Officers click on the button ARC Submit. If this is done by mistake please note the project ID number and immediately advise David Lewis or Annika Landsmann on ext 51541.
GAMS
All applicants for ARC grants must have an identifier on the ARC’s Grant Application Management System (GAMS) to enable them to enter and review their applications in GAMS.
All colleges will have one or more GAMS coordinators who have administrative access to view and local submit applications.

The Office of Sponsored Research will coordinate the final ARC submit in GAMS for all colleges.
