ANU Submission to ARC

All applications submitted to the Office of Sponsored Research must have undergone a local peer-review and administrative check by the local Business Office or College Research Office and must be accompanied by the relevant, completed 'Authority to Apply' form. Forms designed for specific schemes are listed in the Forms website. Please see specific scheme (links above) for submission requirements.

GAMS INFORMATION

Applications must be submitted using the ARC's "GAMS" web-accessible database (hard copy of complete applications must also be provided to the Research Office by the corresponding Internal closing date/s).

Obtaining a GAMS ID and Password

PLEASE NOTE: If you have previously applied for a GAMS ID and Password it remains current and the same, unless you have been an assessor or reader (then you will need to email the ARC directly as stated below to have your password reset).

for ANU Staff and Students...

If you are currently employed at The Australian National University, please email RO IT help stating your Full Name (including title, eg. Prof), Date of Birth, gender, position, Department, telephone contact numbers and email address.
If you are or have previously been an Assessor/Reader, please email ARC GAMS IDs with your current GAMS ID to have your password reset. If you have forgotten your GAMS ID, you can obtain it from RO IT help.

for Other Applicants...

If you are employed at another Australian University please contact the Research Office at your institution. The ARC provides a list of all institutions GAMS contacts.
If you are not employed by an Australian University (eg. overseas, another employer or unemployed) please complete the ARC proforma and send it to ARC GAMS IDs as an email attachment in .rtf or .doc format. (You may, if you wish, send this form to RO IT help for forwarding to the ARC. However, this involves an additional process which results in marginal delays.)

REPORTS

Progress reports must be submitted to the Local College Business Office electronically as well as a 2 x signed hard copy using the relevant proforma listed below. Once completed the Local office will post the original signed copies and email the .rtf or pdf file to the Office of Sponsored Research at RO ARCreports.

Final reports are to be completed and submitted electronically in GAMS by the lead Investigator. Please advise the Local Research Office once the report is completed, as they will finalise the submission process and ‘Office submit’ the report to the ARC. A final copy of the report needs to be printed, signed and given to the Central Research Office at the Office of Sponsored Research for the Universities Central files.
