Germany: DAAD Website
* Applicants please see your College Research Office for internal deadlines Documents:
Background. The scheme is a joint initiative of the Group of Eight (Go8) universities and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). In 2007 the Go8 formed a partnership with the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) to create the Go8 - Germany Joint Research Cooperation Scheme for an initial period of three years. Since then the scheme has provided over $4 million to support research exchange, particularly for early career researchers, between Australia and Germany. The scheme is currently jointly funded by the Go8 and the DAAD and will continue to run until one of the contracting parties withdraws from the agreement. Objectives and scope. The scheme aims to foster research collaboration of the highest quality between Australian researchers from Go8 universities and German researchers from German universities, institutes of technology and Fachhochschulen. Fachhochschulen are German higher education institutions that offer applied and practical courses of study. The scheme will support exchanges for Australian researchers to spend time at partner institutions in Germany and for collaborating German researchers to spend time at Go8 universities. It is hoped that the scheme will result in research outcomes and the exchange of skills and knowledge of mutual benefit to Australia and Germany. Further information.
