Applications for Approval of Dealings with GMOs

 

Application Process

The University Recombinant DNA Monitoring Committee has a twenty-one day timeframe to evaluate the application and provide recommendations to the Secretary. The application may be approved or the applicant may be asked to submit a revised application addressing the recommendations made by the Committee.

Exempt and Notifiable Low Risk Dealings: The University Recombinant DNA Monitoring Committee will advise the applicant in writing that the application has been approved and that work on the project may commence. The final document must be signed by the applicant. This original document will be held on file in the Office of Research Integrity (ORI).

Licenced Dealings: The final application must be signed by the applicant, the DVC of the ANU and the Chair of the University Recombinant DNA Monitoring Committee. A copy is held on file and the original submitted to the OGTR. Work on the project MUST NOT commence until the application has been approved by the OGTR and a Licence to undertake the work has been received in writing by the organisation and the applicant.  This process can take 90 days or more.

The Confidential Commercial Information form (if relevant) must be submitted with your Application Form. For further information contact the Secretary of the University Recombinant DNA Monitoring Committee.

 

 

 

Submitting application forms to the IBC

  1. Email an electronic copy. Please provide the application form and attachments to the Secretary of the University Recombinant DNA Monitoring Committee for assessment by the IBC Committee.
  2. Providing a hardcopy. You will be advised by the IBC Secretary when to provide a hardcopy of your application.
