ARIES

The University has purchased a new system to manage research data. The system is called ARIES (ANU Research Information Enterprise System). It is based on a commercial package which has been customised to suit the University’s requirements.

ARIES replaces the previous databases used by the Research Office and Special Purpose Funds F&BS, and provides additional reporting functionality not available in previous databases.

ARIES has five separate modules - Research Projects, Grants, Publications, Ethics and Research Performance.

ARIES is available across campus via a web user interface.

ARIES runs on PCs and Macs using Internet Explorer, Netscape 6, Mozilla and Safari.

ANU staff require an account to access ARIES. Most staff will find they already have an account. Ring the Research Office on ext 56736 if you have difficulty logging in.

Implementation of ARIES

The Projects and the Grants modules have been implemented and training has been given to all staff who applied for it. All Colleges, Faculties, Schools and Centres may now enter data into the live (Production) database.

 

Training

Please refer to the workshops & seminars page on the Research Office website. Alternatively you may find current training offered through the HORUS training catalogue - simply login to HORUS, select Training>Training Catalogue and filter records by provider 'Research Office'. Registration for available training can be made through HORUS.

 

Logging in to ARIES

Login to ARIES using your uniID and the password you use for HORUS.

There are TWO versions of ARIES, each with a different URL.

The URL for the training/play version is https://aries.anu.edu.au/play/content/ASP/ANUlogin.asp

The URL for production (live) data is https://aries.anu.edu.au/content/ASP/ANULogin.asp
