Freedom of InformationSchedule of Fees and ChargesAccess to Personal Records by ANU StaffFreedom of InformationAs with all Government agencies, the University is subject to the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (the FOI Act). Since August 2001, responsibility as the primary decision-maker for FOI applications addressed to the ANU has been delegated to the Manager, University Records.

Access to Personal Records by ANU StaffIf you are an employee or former employee of the University, you should use the established procedures that allow you to access your own personnel records without needing to use FOI. Contact the Manager, University Records, in the first instance. If you are dissatisfied with the result of using those procedures or you are not notified within 30 days of the outcome of the request for your personnel records, you may then make a request under the FOI Act. For requests to access your personnel records or for further information and assistance on FOI matters in general, contact the Manager, University Records (also known as the University's Freedom of Information Officer), by email at records.manager@anu.edu.au. The Manager, University Records, can also arrange training in the operation of the FOI Act and its implications for University staff, as well as the related recordkeeping procedures.
