Pacific Islands Electronic Mail List

In March 1994 an electronic forum for researchers and others with Pacific Islands interests was established at the Australian National University. Donald Denoon (Pacific and Asian History, Research School of Pacific and Asian Studies), had the idea, and saw it through with the enthusiastic help of Matthew Ciolek of the Coombs Computing Centre. The forum provides a very useful service with respect to the exchange of information, news, notes and views on matters relating to the Pacific Islands.

The list began with several dozen members and now has several hundred with many overseas subscribers. Over the years the forum has enrolled people in response to specific requests.
