Assessment scheme
The assessment scheme will vary, depending on whether you are doing an individual project, undertaking a reading course, or attending a a lecture series. It should be consistent with the type of activity.
For example, if you are doing an individual project, marks should be awarded for: maintaining your log book and diary, attending meetings with your supervisor and the course coordinator, plus marks for a written report(say 20 pages) and a seminar or oral examination.
As another example, if you are doing a reading course, marks should be awarded for: maintaining your log book and diary, attending meetings with your supervisor and the course coordinator, plus marks for either assignments, a written or an oral examination.
For a lecture series, marks should be awarded for assignments, and either a written or an oral examination.
The supervisor and student should negotiate a suitable weighting for the assessment and submit it for approval to the course coordinator before enrolment in the course.
