Abstract

We know that 'the Internet changed everything'. But after more than a decade, the music and film industries are still in denial.

Fortunately, the VET sector is much better positioned to reap the benefits of digital materials than the music and film industries. That's because everyone in TAFE has always understood the sharing ethos, and appreciates the fact that digital materials are so much more readily adapted and re-purposed.

This presentation will provide an overview of the alternative approaches to doing business with digital copyright objects. It will stress the importance of copyright clearance on the input end, and productisation and correct choice of copyright licence-type on the output end.
