Proposed strategies to improve IT security

16 October 2017

ANU is considering a number of strategies to improve IT security across campus as part of the Identity and Access Management (IdAM) Project.

These changes include a simplified system to allow users to reset passwords once they have established their 'secret' questions, and the ability to use a single sign-on to University applications.

The University is also considering introducing annually expiring passwords for all staff, students and users of ANU systems.

Over time this may evolve to a shorter time frame in line with Australian industry guidelines but any decision will be determined by the University Identity Governance Committee.

The project team is currently testing these proposed changes and more information will be available to the ANU Community at the beginning of December 2017.
