Those who register have access to the University's 14 vehicles that are available 24/7 at various locations across the campus.
The University's Carshare program has been opened up to undergraduate students, making it easy for anyone - students or staff - to hire one of the cars around the campus.
Students can for the first time book and pay to hire one of the fleet vehicles via the ANU Carshare scheme website.
Undergraduate students can only book cars for private use and there are costs involved.
ANU Carshare began in May 2016, with staff and Higher Degree by Research students being allowed to hire a range of vehicles from small sedans to 12-seater buses for as little as one hour. But the service has now proven so popular that it has been expanded to include undergraduate students.
Anyone wishing to hire a vehicle should first register their details to on the ANU Carshare scheme, via the website.
"Those who register have access to the University's 14 vehicles that are available 24/7 at various locations across the campus," said Carshare Project Manager Hayley Molloy.
Costs start from as little as $11.99 per hour or $78 for the day, and include rent, fuel to a maximum of 150km per day, insurance, maintenance and 24 hour roadside assistance.
