Studying a Bachelor of Economics/Bachelor of Finance at ANU has opened the door to the world for Michelle Lindenmayer.

Ms Lindenmayer won a Westpac Asian Exchange Scholarship to study at the National University of Singapore, and also won a New Colombo Plan Mobility Grant to study in Beijing.

"Going on exchange not only gave me the opportunity to challenge myself to learn about and adapt to a new culture but also reinforced my passion for Asian business and geopolitics that I could use practically in my international business courses at ANU," Ms Lindenmayer said.

"Having the opportunity to study with academics who went above and beyond gave us the skills that have already given me great advantages in the workforce," she said.

Ms Lindenmayer said studying aboard as part of a degree is something she highly recommended.

"Not only did it lead to great personal growth and a greater understanding of Asian culture but it allowed me to make friends all around the world," she said.

"It also led me to my role as treasurer of the ANU Exchange network, a society that runs events for exchange students coming into ANU."

Ms Lindenmayer has graduated with a Bachelor of Economics and will graduate from a Bachelor of Finance in July 2018.

She is will start a job as an analyst in the banking sector in Sydney next year.
