Got a story you want to tell? Have always wondered how to get your work into the media but didn't know where to start?
Strategic Communications and Public Affairs (SCAPA) holds free media training for ANU staff throughout the year.
The first session will be held this Friday, March 3, from 9 -12 in the Chancelry. You can register for the course on the Eventbrite link or by emailing media@anu.edu.au.
The workshops, all run by experienced journalists, will give you an insight into how the media works, what journalists want from you and the benefits to academics from engaging with the media.
They include practical sessions on making your research engaging and understandable to a general audience, identifying newsworthy angles, interview practice for radio and TV in the media studio, and using social media.
Further detail, including the full schedule of training for this year, is available at http://news.anu.edu.au/how-to/media-training/.
Morning tea will be provided.
We also run bespoke training sessions for individual areas. Please contact the media team at media@anu.edu.au if you would like to arrange a workshop for your area.
