Following in the Carver family footsteps

15 December 2017

Brothers John and Robert Carver were following in the family ANU footsteps, but in totally different disciplines, when they graduated from the ANU college of Business and Economics.

They are the third generation of Carvers to achieve academic success at ANU.

John Carver graduated with a Master of Finance, while Robert Carver graduated at the same ceremony with a Bachelor of Economics and Bachelor of Laws with Honours.

Their father Professor John Carver, who was on stage at the ceremony to watch his sons graduate, was awarded his PhD from ANU in 1983, and he is now Director of the Research School of Chemistry.

After the ceremony, they posed for photos in the John Carver building, named after Professor Carver's father and grandfather of the graduates, who was Director of the Research School of Physics and Engineering from 1978 to 1992.
