Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Professor Marnie Hughes-Warrington, has been appointed Deputy National Secretary of Australian Scholars for the Rhodes Trust.
Professor Hughes-Warrington will assist the Advisory Board with the expansion of the Rhodes Scholarships program in Australia.
“I’m honoured and delighted to have this opportunity to further strengthen connections with the Rhodes community in Australia and globally,” Professor Hughes-Warrington says.
Her appointment will also help build Rhodes’ legacy as the global name for leadership and excellence.
“One of the things I love about Rhodes is that its community spans multiple generations and broad interests and expertise. It has a deep past and a powerful future.”
Professor Hughes-Warrington says she will be supporting the National Secretary Graham Hutchinson in selection activities and working to further engage Rhodes scholars.
Other recent appointments to Rhodes Australia include new state governors and new state secretaries to help with expanding outreach to less represented institutions.
