24 May 2017

27 May 2017 marks the 50th anniversary of Australia's iconic 1967 referendum. The first question concerned changing the balance of numbers in the Australian Parliament, while the second determined whether to remove references from the Constitution which discriminated against Aboriginal people.  Our panel asks if '67 still matters and explore topics including sovereignty, reconciliation, and constitutional change.

Speakers: Dr Benjamin Jones, ANU School of History, Professor Ann McGrath, ANU Australian Centre for Indigenous History, and Jo Chivers, Chairperson of the Canberra and District NAIDOC Aboriginal Corporation.
