The Australian National University has appointed Ms Deena Shiff as the new Chair of the Australian Centre on China in the World Advisory Board.
Ms Shiff will replace Mr Graham Kraehe AO, who completed his two-year term as Chair earlier this year.
The Australian Centre on China in the World is a hub for China-related research, outreach, analysis and engagement.
ANU Vice-Chancellor Professor Brian Schmidt said Ms Shiff brings the necessary industry and business experience to help the Centre achieve its objectives to engage successfully with the region.
"As Chair of a global communications company, and board member on a number of the most interesting emerging growth companies in Australia, Deena is well-connected to business and industry and can bring an insight which will assist our academics with engagement in the Asian region," Professor Schmidt said.
Ms Shiff is currently Chair of BAI Communications and Marley Spoon (Asx: MMM), board member of Appen (Asx: Apx), Infrastructure Australia, Opera Australia. She is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
"I wish to thank Graham Kraehe for his unwavering leadership over the past two years, and for his input into the review leading to the reimagined Australian Centre on China in the World." Professor Schmidt said.
