A world-leading city for a world-leading University

I'm very proud to say that when students come to study at ANU from around Australia and the world, we can offer them not only a world-leading education but a city to match.

To celebrate Canberra being named as one of the world's best cities to visit, ANU has chosen 10 of the best images of Canberra and the ANU, taken by members of the University community.

Lonely Planet's Best in Travel 2018 top 10 cities list rated Canberra as the third best place to visit in the world.

The listing stated that Canberra was 'criminally overlooked' as a travel destination and 'packs a big punch for such a small city'.

ANU Vice-Chancellor Brian Schmidt said he was delighted to see Canberra being recognised as a great place to visit.

"I'm very proud to say that when students come to study at ANU from around Australia and the world, we can offer them not only a world-leading education but a city to match," Professor Schmidt said.

"Canberra is a wonderful place to study and a wonderful place to live."

The latest QS World University Rankings for 2018 listed ANU as Australia's top university and among the top 20 universities in the world.
