Performance Major
	Brass It is the performance focus of the study of brass at the School of Music, Faculty of Arts that distinguishes it by providing dynamic and exciting professional tuition, and developing musically informed and technically assured brass players.
	Guitar The Guitar Area enjoys a national and international reputation as Australia's leading guitar school.
	Piano The Australian National University's Keyboard Institute promotes creative activity through research into issues associated with keyboard performance, keyboard instruments, keyboard pedagogy, and keyboard repertoire.
	Percussion Studying percussion at the School of Music involves a total immersion in the full spectrum of percussion through an emphasis on developing the individual percussionist as a chamber and solo musician.
	Strings The String area is committed to providing enhanced learning opportunities through the interaction between teacher and individual student, through a focus on effective rehearsal and practice techniques, through staff feedback to all students in group contexts (classes, tutorials, soirees), and through ensemble activities and concert opportunities
	Voice Voice students enjoy all the advantages of study at a School which offers individual attention and varied performance opportunities including opera, vocal ensemble, recitals, and concerts.
	Woodwind The Woodwind area of the School of Music has attained its considerable reputation through the Australian and international achievements of its teaching faculty.
Jazz Major
	Jazz The Jazz program supports students' performance objectives through a blend of performance, composition, and academic programs that allow for an individually tailored educational experience.
Musicology Major
	Musicology The musicology area is the focal point in the School of Music, Faculty of Arts for critical and historical, theoretical, and cross-cultural research in music.
Composition Major
	Composition The Composition program is unique in Australia in that it places equal emphasis on instrumental/vocal composition and computer-based music composition.
