TICKETING FOR THE ARTS HAS NEVER BEEN EASIER

The Australian National University and Canberra Ticketing have joined together to deliver new ticketing services for the Canberra community.

From January 1, ticketing services for the School of Music, the Peter Karmel Building and the Arts Centre at ANU will be provided by Canberra Ticketing through the Canberra Theatre Centre, an activity of the Cultural Facilities Corporation (CFC).

ANU Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ian Chubb, said the new arrangement would provide important new benefits for organisations that use these ANU venues. “We are delighted with this new partnership, which means ANU can continue to focus on delivering great events and performances at our public venues.”

The Chair of the Cultural Facilities Corporation, Professor Don Aitkin, said the partnership would provide a new level of ticketing service to the Canberra community.

“Canberra Ticketing is an important activity of the Canberra Theatre Centre. The CFC has had a long association with the ANU Faculty of Arts through collaboration with the Canberra Museum and Gallery — this new business venture expands our links.”

In 2005, ANU will continue to present performances by students at the ANU School of Music and theatre activities in the ANU Arts Centre, while extending engagement with performance producers and presenters, such as the Canberra Symphony Orchestra, the Australian Chamber Orchestra and Musica Viva.

Canberra Ticketing has specialised in developing a comprehensive ticketing service including counter sales, phone room and online promotion and sales, and already works with many of the promoters who use Llewellyn Hall, at the ANU School of Music.

Canberra Ticketing will commence ticketing services for the ANU School of Music from 1 January 2005.
