Did they ever work?
</cynic>

I'm becoming more and more alarmed and concerned by
continuing examples of self-regulation (the ultimate
democratic right? or total fascism?) going WAY
off the rails due to self-interests. Some examples:

(*) Sydney sewer inlets and outlets
(*) television ads, including their time duration
(*) the cost of green slips in NSW
(*) income tax self-assessment

The list goes on and on and on and on and ... what
are we left with? In Ms Hanson's own words, I yearn
for the 1960's ... if only in the area of MORE
government involvement, MORE accountability and
MORE shared responsibility.
