Amen!!! If I was gauche enough to send formatted email to link, there
would be a lot of formatting on that word. Some ISPs are thankfully
running a certain Messaging Server which allows POP3, IMAP4 and web based
interfaces to the same mailbox.
However some IT departments (including one close to my recent experience)
have security concerns about IMAP. How well founded are these? IMAP looks
like such a sensible solution.
This thread was about line wrapping. Some forms of digital signature,
including I think PGP, wrap the line before signature to prevent the
signature becoming invalid through wrapping by the email client after
signature. Is there a connection between wrapping and authentication?
