Uncritically, at least to this point, emphasising the processing, rather
than the gathering, nature of the media. For example, Rural Press's new
flagship, the Canberra Times, ran a puff piece on Davies appearance at the
NPC:

While earlier in the week the paper ran a yarn saying that "AN INTERNET
service price war could erupt this week as US giant America Online (AOL)
launches its first Australian operation". Bull.

Their arrival is worthy of *critical* media attention, and critical
attention from organisations like the one of which Thomas is the past
president. Why, for example, are the costs so high?
And I'll provide AOL with a potential excuse: Good ole Telstra is slugging
them and us for bungling their fibre rollout, a rollout, which to my
understanding, was commenced without a business plan.
