Roger, I'm interested to hear that AOL has a similar charging level to Big
Pond and others here. The differentiation in the US market for AOL
besides being 'simple' [??] to use was its price point. It went to the
market as affordable access at about $10/month. This was well below the
Compu$erve pricing based on hours of use from a fuller-service online
service provider.

I was hoping that AOL would use some of its leveraging to actually bring
in some competition to the overcharging of some of the majors here. [I
just did a quick comparison in order to find a new ISP and was shocked at
the outrageous pricing form some of the companies, even by Australian
standards].

If AOL thinks it can get the market share with just a 'friendly' approach,
I don't think that's enough if they keep the pricing at the higher end.
Where are the KMart's of ISPs??
