Further to my response to Liddy a week or so ago, we are now in a position
to invite Linkers to a trial run at http://www.election98.net and be first
in to start the whole process before it "goes public".

An interactive electronic democracy election site is now available at:

http://www.election98.net

This site may be the first time federal candidates and citizens in marginal
electorates (including Brand and the bell-wether Eden Monaro) can
communicate directly with each other over the Internet. The site has just
been opened up for action, and we are hoping to get candidates to make
opening statements. A set of questions arising from the public postings
will be put to candidates to reply to during the last week of the campaign.
Comments and contributions welcome.

Originator of idea and project mentor/guru is Karin Geiselhart.
Sponsors are WebCentral and www.consult, with guidance from PhD student
