I'd just like to make a point regarding the relationship between APC
editorial and APC advertising.
At APC, we often receive complaints from advertisers because we have
slammed one of their products and indeed have had a number of advertisers
withdraw their ads as a result of what we have written. We also receive
complaints from advertisers who feel they have an automatic right to be
included in reviews "because we spend $20K a year with you guys". It takes
a lot of patience to tell them that, unfortunately, we don't work that way.
And if they tell us some magazines offer favourable reviews to advertisers,
we tell them they should stick to those magazines and leave APC alone.
We take great pride in the editorial integrity of APC which is why it is
the best computer magazine on the Australian market. If that intefgrity
were to ever be compromised, I, for one, would not be here and there are a
number of journalists here who would vouch the same.
Regards
