Sunrise is organising on-line discussion with W3C, OCLC and DSTC on Nov 5.
Would you like to take part, to hear about the latest developments for
Dublin Core, and how the
W3C resource description frameworks will make all this possible - and when?
Also, would you like to be a host site? we believe these events are most
sucessful when people within a region actually collect in the same space so
they can talk among themselves as well as with the guest speakers.
Please let me know as soon as possible if and how you would like to be
involved.
Here are the details:
We have arranged to have online, Jim Miller from MIT/W3C, Stu Wyball and Eric
Miller from OCLC and Renato Iannella from DSTC.
They will be available:
United States time: 6.00 pm, Wednesday 5th November.
Australia time: 8.00 am, Thursday 6th November.
We know that this time of day is not perfect for everyone but there is no
better time, given that W3C will be connecting from Boston, OCLC from
Washington and Australia from Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane & maybe the
Northern Territory.
Last time, if I remember correctly, host sites charged a small fee to cover
expenses including providing some nibbles and drinks - hopefully this will
happen again. We suggested $10 per head.
Please let me know if you would like to participate - if you would like to
be a host site, and if you can or can't set up a CUSeeMe link at that time.
The Sunrise team will then coordinate with you to organise the technical
details and test the link.
