Abstract

This paper considers privacy in the context of the Internet. It identifies
threats, outlines measures that can be taken to address them, discusses
government policy considerations, and canvasses ways in which the net
community can work towards more effective protections in the future. It
comprises several documents, of which this is the central, organising
paper. It provides references to the web-based and hard-copy literatures.
