Did I hear and read coreectly that Dr Mahatir was blaming a certain
"religious" group for the currency speculation and the state of the
economy in Malaysia? if so, would this have any impact on people
wanting to go to malaysia or supporting that government? surely
the UN would have trouble endorsing such a government if the press
reports are correct, no?
Did'nt Terry Cutler, David Charles and Roger Buckeridge point out
Malaysia and this MultiMedia Super Corridor as some Nirvana that
Australia should emulate or fall behind? And now we see the
Malaysian budget coming in .... I wonder if they will duck for
cover?

I think i read in the AUstralian something along the lines that
David Charles (ex-DIST, now consultant at Allen Consulting) said
that the market failures he wanted Australian Govt to address were
the incentives being offered by countries such as Malaysia to
attract investment. Should we be using Malaysia as a role model
for economic and IT policy? comments from the rest of the link///
I loved Malcolm Turnbull's quote that said "we have more MultiMedia
talent and resources within 5 kms of [somewhere in Sydney] than in all
