Linkers,
FYI, from the ABC News site:

---------------------------------------------------------
Moves to expand electronic commerce in Australia are to
get a boost with a national summit on the issue planned for
early next year.

The summit will be co-hosted by Telstra and the Federal
Government's new National Office of the Information
Economy.

The office is headed by former ANZ Bank chief executive
Don Mercer, and will answer to Information Technology
Minister Richard Alston.

It will examine ways of encouraging more businesses to
participate in the online economy, estimated to be worth
more than $6 billion a year by the turn of the century.

The summit will involve business leaders, consumer groups
and key regulatory authorities.
