Sourcing quote

I wonder if anyone can help me. I am trying to source a quote that has
become part of Internet sales jargon, but it basically says that if
automobile prices had moved the same way as computer prices, a brand new
Jaguar would now cost about $14.

Can anyone give me source details for this - who said it, when and where?
