If you are using Netscape 3.0 or Better(?) the Keyview Version 5 plugin
is helpful for unscrambling legacy formats and bringing them into a
current usable form. It reportly works on all common known formats
although I personally have not tested it.

Uh Terry, I wouldn't call tar and gz 'legacy formats'... maybe you meant the
markup contained in the plaintext?
