With my text only browser this URL redirects me to
http://www.worldcongress2002.org/flash_sniff.htm which produces a
blank page!

Opening it in iCab I find it opens two windows. One with the URL
above which invites you to download flash but it does not appear to
display anything if you use a text only browser. Even "Ga Away!"
would be better than a blank screen.

The second, which is very slow, being full of graphics and complex
tables to achieve graphical rather than useful effects. My browser,
iCab, has a feature which checks the validity of the HTML code. Its
report on this page is -

So the page does not specify which version of HTML it is using
(missing <!DOCTYPE>) and is not using HTML 4.0 Strict but an earlier
version.

Despite using styesheets it still uses FONT tags which is an untidy.

If I go to this page directly with a text only browser it appears
quite usable. Hopefully it would pass a bobby test. If the top page
of the site pointed directly to this page,
http://www.worldcongress2002.org/public/home.asp , it would be usable.

And that is one of the reasons I use a text browser for my first scan
of a page. If I see enough to interest me I proceed. If I see too
little to indicate what the site is or how to navigate I make a
judgement about the competence of the designers and go elsewhere.
