Communications Research Forum 2001
26 - 27 September
Rydges Lakeside Hotel, Canberra

The Communications Research Forum draws together researchers, key
industry players and policy makers in a multi-disciplinary
environment to consider communications policy and research in
Australia.

The forum provides a valuable opportunity to exchange ideas and
research findings and discuss recent policy developments. Many
aspects of communications are covered, including broadcasting, media,
online issues and telecommunications.

Program highlights of the forum:

Keynote presentations:
Mr Gary Banks, Chairman, Productivity Commission - Role of ICT in
Australia's economic performance.
Dr Jeffrey Tobias, CEO, Smart Internet CRC - Catching the brightest
butterflies: a wider and more intricate net.
Dr David Skellern, Panel Member, ICT Centre of Excellence - The ICT
Centre of Excellence.

Presentation of more than 30 papers by academics, researchers and industry.

Policy panel: Public broadcasting in a digital age organised by the
Communication and Media Policy Institute, University of Canberra.

Policy hypothetical: Is Australia getting the communications
infrastructure it deserves? organised by CIRCIT@RMIT.
