Before this thread headed off to some very interesting commentary on
promoting ICT education in schools, Tony Barry and others commented on
issues concerning the accessibility of the site Study in Australia
(http://www.studyinaustralia.gov.au). I took the liberty of passing these
comments on to the site managers. They have responded that the site has
been set up to auto detect browser type and to default to text only,
bypassing the splash page, when appropriate. The site manager is reviewing
the detection code in the light of Tony's experience.

On the issue of ACNs raised by Roger the site is an initiative of the
Department of Education, Training and Youth Affairs. The issue of an ACN
therefore does not arise. The target audience is people overseas who may be
interested in studying in Australia. This is why the site identifies itself
as 'the official Australian Government web site for international students'
and uses the .gov.au domain.

Thanks for the feedback.
