The Mac provides programmers with a very rich "Toolbox" of system
functions. All file accesses go through the File Manager, for example.
This makes it very easy for anti-virus programs to detect "suspicious"
activity and warn the user.
And despite the extremely low level of virus activity on the Mac,
almost all Macs seem to have a virus checker installed.
