ADOBE SLAMS INTO REVERSE
Adobe backtracked today, urging the release of arrested
Russian programmer Dmitry Sklyarov it previously wanted
charged. In the face of public protest, Adobe withdrew its
support for the criminal complaint against Sklyarov,
arrested for demonstrated code that cracks encrypted PDFs.
It persuaded the Electronic Frontier Foundation to issue a
statement praising Adobe "or doing the right thing." See
