It must have been a while since you installed Red Hat Linux!

All you need to do now is to put in the CD and boot off the CD or a boot
floppy. From then on a workstation install does not require you to
select packages, read manuals or even partition the hard drive...

As for using vi, I rarely use it - and only for quick things that are
not worth the bother of loading emacs.

As for reading floopy discs, CDs etc, these are all available as icons
on your desktop and are automounted. Simply click on the icon and the
file manager opens. Printers are much easier to install etc...

As for Star Office, it is similar enough in operation to MS Office that
without using a manual I have been able to work it quite well thanks you
even if it is quite some time since I last used MS Office :-)

The only real issue with Star Office is that it is a memory hog...and
older PCs with less than 128 MB RAM will have a problem with
performance.
