{satopic_overview}Raiser's Edge (RE) at ANU
Raiser's Edge (RE) is the ANU centralised Alumni and fundraising management system.
RE is managed by the Office of Endowment for Excellence within the Marketing and Communications Division and maintained by Advancement Services within the Office of Endowment for Excellence.
RE was selected as an alumni and fundraising management system by ANU in 2002. RE was installed as an 'enterprise system' and has been actively supported by DOI since 2006.
RE is a market leader internationally in software and services to not-for-profit organisations, particularly in UK, North America, Australia and New Zealand. In Australia, more than twenty universities use RE, including the majority of Group of Eight universities (ANU, Monash, UWA, University of Adelaide, University of Queensland, University of NSW).
ANU uses RE for maintaining alumni and 'friends' records - including name, address, email and other contact details, educational qualifications conferred, and event participation.
The University's Office of Endowment for Excellence also uses RE to record benefactors, donations and bequests, and well as reporting for the more than 300 individual endowment funds and foundations that make up the Endowment for Excellence. Since 2007, all donations to the University have been recorded in RE, with the receipting capabilities being used to provide tax receipts and certificates of acknowledgement. Finance and Business Services use RE as the primary database for all Endowment funds, running in parallel with the financial management reporting system.
RE is also used to manage the contacts list for publications such as the School of Music's Concert Diary, and the ANU Reporter which includes some 2,000 organisations such as schools, libraries and media outlets.
Data & Statistics
RE is a central data store of alumni and endowment information and can produce statistics and contact mailing lists.
Statistics on the number of Alumni we have at the University, the Colleges they graduated from, the residences they lived in, and the specific discipline they studied are all tracked in RE.
We also provide statistics on the numbers of Alumni we are in contact with by College and Location.
RE generates quarterly management reports to the Endowment Board of Governors and an Annual report to the University Council.
See Raiser's Edge: Available Data for information on what figures are available and how to request database searches.
System Access
Raiser's Edge access is available to University Staff. There are three levels of access: View Only, Input and Query. See Raiser's Edge: System Access for information on requesting access and getting training and support.

{satopic_overview}Constituent Information
Constituent Information in Raiser's Edge (RE) covers Alumni, Friends and Donors to the University.
Constituent Details include - Biographical, ANU Academic record, career, prizes and scholarships awarded, residential colleges and ANU events attended.
Career Details
Alumni and Friends Organisation details are entered into RE and categorised according to the Australian and New Zealand Standard Classifications of Occupation and Industry.
Requests for information on graduate destinations can be provided at either an Industry or Occupation level as well as in detail. Download the ANZSIC and ANZSCO code tables from the Templates and Resources section below.
Alumni Statistics
Many statistics are available on Alumni and can be grouped by College. Download the latest ANU Alumni figures from the Templates and Resources section below.
Number of Records
At the time of implementation (October 2002), RE held some 43,000 records for individuals (Alumni and friends of the ANU).
As at July 2008 the database has grown to 72,213 individuals of which some 49,000 are verifiable.
Email Addresses
Email addresses are available for some 47% of individuals with verifiable contact details.
Incorporation of other data sources
There has been an incorporation of 69 individual and previously separately maintained alumni and donor databases (usually Excel or Access) into RE in recent years. Major inclusions have been ANU College of Law, ANU College of Business and Economics, Crawford School, ANU Medical School, JCSMR, and Bruce Hall, National Centre for Epidemiology and Population Health, and the Research School of Humanities.
Individual records have been substantially enhanced with the addition of other relevant information such as scholarships, prizes and University Medallists, and residential college. Since the creation of seven ANU Colleges, individual records have been attributed to the new Colleges, whilst retaining a record of the conferring entity e.g. The MBA was originally delivered through RSPAS, then NGSM and now ANU College of Economics and Business.
Records of individuals who had been deleted from the Convocation list have been recovered, and records such as some Law graduates who had their degree conferred by the University of Melbourne have also been included.

{satopic_overview}What is sponsorship?
Sponsorship is a commercial arrangement through which a sponsor provides cash or other consideration (such as in-kind goods or services), in return for a marketing platform to reach a particular target audience. Sponsorship can either be sought by ANU (where the University seeks to gain a sponsor for its event) or it can be taken up by ANU (where the University becomes the sponsor of an external event)
Taking up or seeking sponsorship
The Marketing Office, OVC is responsible for the management, evaluation, approval and delegation of all sponsorships. This centralised process ensures that sponsorships provide tangible and cost effective benefits to ANU or to external sponsors and that all sponsorship activity aligns with the University's goals and objectives.
Sponsorship guidelines
The sponsorship guidelines are designed to assist in the evaluation of sponsorship proposals. They cover:

Sponsorship benefits
Making the most of sponsorships
Sponsorships which should not be considered
Sponsorship proposals

How can the Marketing Office assist?
MO will provide assistance in evaluating, managing or delegating a sponsorship proposal and also in developing and evaluating a proposal that seeks sponsorship from external organisations. The Office will also provide approval and legal sign-off.
