Rhetoric
The Rhetoric learning community is interested in the art of writing and speaking persuasively and effectively, with a particular focus on academic writing, debating and public speaking. This learning community is completely interdisciplinary, though many of the students in the community are studying science, law, politics and philosophy.
Over the past year activities include forums on Indigenous health, the Gardasil vaccine, prosecuting international crime, human rights abuses and terrorism and a review of outcomes of last year’s APEC meeting. The learning community also promote the ANU Public Lecture series and opportunities for debating. The journal Cross-sections is an important part of the learning community and this year we are establishing a research journal which publishes research work of ANU undergraduate students.
