The Jabal Indigenous Higher Education Centre is a first point of contact for prospective and new Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander students and a place where students can meet for study, social and cultural purposes. The Jabal Indigenous Higher Education Centre is available for assisting students in all aspects of their studies. The Centre is:

  • an identifiable Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander presence on campus.
  • a first point of contact for all enquiries about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander student matters in the University.
  • a focus for Aboriginal activities and for the education of other members of the University community about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander issues.
  • a place where students can meet for study support and social purposes.

We offer a range of services and facilities to help Indigenous students in all aspects of their studies and University life. These include:

  • a student common room with a kitchen, after hours tea and coffee making facilities.
  • study areas and after hours access to a computer room (pc and mac).
  • additional resources, such as a seminar room, tutorial room, resource library, books, magazines, videos and compact discs.
  • personal support to help with general and academic matters.
  • academic advice on course selection and study progress.
  • up-to-date advice and information on scholarships and cadetships available to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
